About The Project: This week we were assigned an electricity project. We had to make an electrical invention. Here are some of the things that we had to include in our inventions: 1. An invention that has a circuit with a switch in it. 2. A title and list of materials used - both the conductors and insulators 3. A drawing of your invention. 4. A schematic diagram of your invention 5. A description of how your invention works. What materials carry the current? Is your circuit a series or parallel circuit? How does the current flow? How brightly does the light (if used) shine? How is the current switched on and off? For my invention, I decided to make something that has to do with a map. I was thinking about it for a few days and then I decided that it would be a map of the USA. You would have to figure out the 3 states on the map (with wires) that I have been to. Link Summary: This week we were learning about magnetic forces. A magnetic force is the power that is forming between things that are magnetic. We did a science experiment to see what can break a magnetic force. What do you think will break a magnetic force? In the science experiment, we were testing to see what different things can break a magnetic force. We have tested a lot of objects: a shoe, paper, hand, rubber band, necklace, cardboard. But... they did not break the force. At the end, we found out that the only thing that can break a magnetic force is space. What does that mean? Have you ever tried putting 2 magnets close together and fee them attract? Well, if you put them further apart, there is not a magnetic force anymore which means that the magnets are too weak at this point to attract. The stronger the magnet is, the further the magnets will attract from. Some magnets are really weak, and those magnets will only attract from only a close distance. Op
