In the periodic table, the rows are called periods. Along the rows, the elements are organized by atomic number (the number of protons.) The rows also have the same energy level or the number of electrons. For example, in the first row, all of the elements' atoms have one energy level, and so on.The atomic mass is the number of neutrons plus the number of protons. The atomic mass can be a decimal, and it is ordered increasingly. The columns in the periodic table are called groups or families. Each family has a name. Project Blog: The excretory system (10/19-10-23)

Here is my groups' poster about the excretory system The project: Miss J.  assigned each group a body system. We were supposed to write and answer interview questions , write and present a compelling argument , draw a poster with our body system on it, and write an acceptance speech that we would present if we won the Oscars. This project was based on the Oscars. We made it sound pretty professional, and each group was competing against each other. At the end of all of the body systems' presentations  we are going to vote which body system is the most important and should win the Oscars. Summary: (Briefly explain what you learned) In this project I learned a lot about the urinary system which is scientifically called the excretory system. Food Chains and Food Webs (10/2-10/6)

Food webs are a lot of food chains that are linked together. For example: In a food web there are a lot of different plants and animals, and it shows where they get energy from. Food webs are much more complex than food chains as you can see in the picture above.  Food chains are chains that connect the different things that eat each other. In a food chain, plants are the only living organisms that make their own food. Check out my blog about  photosynthesis . There is a producer (a plant because it makes its own food) Primary consumers (animals that eat plants), secondary consumers (animals that eat other animals that depend on plants).
