Why I Returned To AdVENTURE (8/27 - 9/9)
Leonard Herman Intermediate School and the AdVENTURE STEM Program by NARF |
Summary:
I returned to the AdVENTURE Program this year because I really like using science, technology, engineering, and math in daily life, and I felt like I fit in at this school. I also like how we use Chromebooks in all of our classes, and that we learn by doing various projects, challenges, and activities. I really like the teachers at AdVENTURE and feel like they are what makes AdVENTURE awesome, so I wanted to finish my final year of middle school at AdVENTURE before leaving for high school. In seventh grade, I was given an opportunity to go to a different school, UPA, for middle school and high school. There were many reasons why I wanted to return to AdVENTURE and a few other reasons why it may be a good idea to go to the other school. I was very lucky to get into UPA because only some people get in. I also wanted to go to the other school because it continues in high school, meaning that I would not have to transfer to a new high school as well. On the other hand, I wanted to return to AdVENTURE because I love the teachers and I have a lot of friends here. Finally, I decided to stay with AdVENTURE because I like that we use technology and that we have many projects in each subject.
I decided to return to AdVENTURE for seventh grade because I really enjoy project-based learning and that we have the privilege to use tech in our daily lives. I also like that we earn grades, just like in high school, which is giving us an experience of high school. I also like that there are opportunities to join zero period band, after-school sports, and lunchtime clubs. I also like that we have spirit days with tug-a-war challenges, musical chairs, and more. Overall, I realized that I was really enjoying AdVENTURE and STEM-based learning. I also liked how it was project based, but we still earned grades. I also really liked the teachers, which are what make AdVENTURE an amazing school. I really enjoyed the program, so I decided to return to AdVENTURE as an 8th grader this year.
