Organelles (9/28-10/1)
Summary:

The organelles work together but they have their own jobs. For example: The chloroplast gets the sugars from the sun and the mitochondria makes it into energy for the cell. Cells that have the same job work together to make a certain tissue. You have skin cells form skin tissues, blood cells form blood tissues, etc.
When tissues get into groups together, they make organs. For example, a brain is an organ so it is made out of brain tissues. Your heart is made out of heart tissues. It is the same with all of the other organs.
Organs work together in groups which is called an organ system. For example, the stomach, small and large intestines, and many more make up the digestive system. These organs work together to digest food. Another example: The Circulatory system has some of these organs: The heart that pumps the blood, and the veins and the arteries take the blood and they deliver it to other organs.
As you can see all of these parts work together to help the organism. If all parts are working correctly, then you are very healthy. If one of these parts went wrong, you could get sick. Now we all know that every part in your body is very important. I can't wait to learn more about the organs and systems in class with Miss J.
