Project Blog: The excretory system (10/19-10-23)

Here is my groups' poster about the excretory system

The project:
Miss J.  assigned each group a body system. We were supposed to write and answer interview questions, write and present a compelling argument, draw a poster with our body system on it, and write an acceptance speech that we would present if we won the Oscars. This project was based on the Oscars. We made it sound pretty professional, and each group was competing against each other. At the end of all of the body systems' presentations  we are going to vote which body system is the most important and should win the Oscars.

Summary:
(Briefly explain what you learned)
In this project I learned a lot about the urinary system which is scientifically called the excretory system. The main parts of the excretory system are the kidneys, the ureters, the bladder, the urethra, and the sphincter. The kidneys filter the blood. They take the waste out of the blood turning it into urine, and then send it through the ureters into the bladder. As the bladder starts to get full, you feel a sensation that you need to go to the restroom (pee.)

Backward Looking:
(How much did you know about the subject before we started?)
Before we started to learn about the excretory system I did not know much about it. I did not even know that the excretory system is the urinary system. All I knew about the excretory system before we started learning about it is that it makes you, and helps you go to the restroom. There is so much more that I know about the excretory system than that!

Inward Looking:
(How do you feel about this piece of work?)
I feel like my group worked really hard on this project even though a lot of times we were getting off of topic. When we were working on the Google slides we were not very focused because we were all editing the same slides at the same time. That was not very efficient because we were accidentally deleting each others slides. Our poster of the excretory system turned out really nice because we all worked on it as a team.

Outward Looking:
(What grade would you give it? Why?)
I think that my group should get and A on the project because the poster and the slides turned out really detailed and professional at the end. My group and I have learned how to work as a team and hopefully we can use that for the next class project . We all worked really hard on the Compelling argument and I am excited to present it on Monday during Science.
Forward Looking:
(What would you change if you had a chance to do this piece over again? )
If we had a chance to change this piece over again I would maybe add more slides to the compelling argument so we could tell the audience more about the excretory system. We could add more details about the different organs in the excretory system. Some of the team members were not very motivated, so I had to do some of the work for them.
